The Bend Bulletin wishes to apologize for reporting on a one sided media story from 2001. There are always two sides to every story and no follow-up has ever been done and I have never been interviewed. What has failed to be reported are the facts and that no action took place because there was no actual wrong doing.

Investor Mentoring had nothing to do with the stock market. It had everything to do with Real Estate and how I personally helped 100's of people by growing a business and giving them jobs. I shut Investor Mentoring down because the real estate market has cooled and now is not a good time to mentor others on how to make a living in real estate.

I made millions as a builder/developer here in Central Oregon and have lost about the same due to the current down turn in the real estate market. Heck, who hasn't lost their shirt? What I am grateful for is the way we did business and took care of all those involved the best we could. I shake my head and feel bad for those who cooked their books in the real estate game, defrauded investors and sacrificed their integrity in the mean time.

For those who know me, they know that my family is first priority and that I am a parent who spends time with their children both at school and in my home life. How I have a great wife that I have been married to for 12+ years. How any worker on my job site was never yelled at or cussed out by me and how I commanded respect of and for others.

Am I rebuilding because of the sudden drop in the real estate market? You Bet!!

Do I have a few foreclosures? You Bet!!

Do I have unpaid bill? You Bet!!

When you go from a legitimate $50,000 per month income to a $5,000 per month income and still have $30,000 in monthly obligations and commitments, you will find yourself short changed somewhere and are faced with who and what to address in what order.

In the end I'm fairing much better then others. Can I be blamed for what has happened? Only if you feel the need to do so. How I look at it is that the real estate crunch has happened nationwide and has effected the majority of the Nation. It has had a trickle down effect.

One of two things is still yet to happen.

    1. We pull out of this slump and can meet the obligations we originally had. (FYI, you can't do this with a 9-5 job at McDonalds)
    2. We file bankruptcy and start with a clean plate.

We are still floating somewhere in the middle are making strides in the right direction to hopefully avoid option 2 of bankruptcy.

I love how people in life hate to see you succeed and are quick to become excited when they think you are failing or losing it all. It is these people that complain everyday about their lives, yet do nothing to change their current position.

In closing, I personally invite the Bend Bulletin or anybody who wished to discuss the facts with me to feel free to contact me at your convenience. I'm an open book and deal with real life and don't mind talking about what we are experiencing.

Sincerely,
Jared
